Our LED flood lights cover everything from a 15W flood on a garden wall to a 1000W high mast over a ball field. You will find Type III models for lots and yards, built-in dusk-to-dawn photocells on many fixtures, and color temperatures from 3000K to 5700K. Many carry a DLC 5.1 Premium listing, which helps when you apply for utility rebates. In-stock orders usually leave our Georgia warehouse the same day. Outdoor LED Flood Lights: Lumens, Color, Beam and Mounting
These are complete LED flood light fixtures, with the LEDs and driver sealed in a weatherproof housing and the mount included. If you only need a screw-in flood bulb for a fixture you already own, see our PAR bulbs.
Start with lumens, not watts
Watts tell you what a fixture draws; lumens tell you how much light you get. Use this table as a starting point, then go up a size for large or very dark areas.
| What you are lighting | Lumens per fixture | Wattage | Typical mounting height | Good fits from our range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Porch, side yard, small sign or landscape accent | 1,500–4,500 | 15–35W | 8–12 ft | 15W and 30W floods; FL3 35W with dusk-to-dawn sensor (4,317 lm) |
| Driveway, backyard, garage or building entrance | 5,000–7,000 | 50W | 10–15 ft | FL06E 50W with photocell (6,400 lm, 4000K or 5700K); 50W floods (5,750 lm) |
| Building facade, loading dock or small lot | 11,000–21,000 | 100–150W | 15–25 ft | FL3 100W, 3000/4000/5000K selectable (14,071 lm); FL4 150W, Type III (21,000 lm); 100W floods (11,500 lm) |
| Parking lot, car lot or storage yard | 43,000–76,000 | 300–500W | 20–35 ft | FL4 300W with photocell (43,500 lm); FL5 300W (45,000 lm); FL10 500W, Type III (76,000 lm) |
| Sports fields, ports and large yards | 67,500–135,000 | 500–1000W | 40 ft and up | SL high mast 500W, 750W and 1000W |
If you are replacing old fixtures, a 150W LED flood light usually takes the place of a 400W metal halide. Our FL5 300W and FL10 500W are rated to replace up to 1,000W metal halide or high-pressure sodium, at roughly a third of the power.

Color temperature: 3000K, 4000K or 5700K?
Color temperature changes how a space looks at night and how much detail people and cameras can pick out.
- 3000K (warm white): homes, landscaping, patios and restaurants.
- 4000K (neutral white): building facades, storefronts and signs, where colors should look natural.
- 5000K–5700K (daylight): parking lots, storage yards, security and sports lighting.
The FL3 100W lets you select 3000K, 4000K or 5000K. The FL06E comes in 4000K or 5700K, and the FL4 300W and FL5 300W in 5000K or 5700K.
Beam angle and Type III distribution
A fixture mounted close to its target needs a wide beam: 150° on the FL06E and 110° on the FL3 series, enough to wash a wall or fill a yard from the eaves. On a pole at the edge of a lot, Type III optics (FL4 and FL10) throw light forward and to the sides, so more of it lands on the pavement and less behind the pole. For long throws from tall poles, the SL high mast lights use a tight 40° beam.
Mounts, dusk-to-dawn photocells and dimming
- Mounting: Most of our floods ship on an adjustable flood mount for a wall, pole or other structure. Knuckle-mount versions thread onto a ground stake or junction box for landscape work.
- Dusk-to-dawn photocells: The FL06E, FL3 35W, FL3 100W and FL4 series have a built-in photocell, and the FL10 500W comes with one. On the FL4, unscrew the 1/2-inch knockout plug to reach the photocell switch. The FL5 300W ships with a shorting cap, so add a twist-lock photocell or run it on a timer.
- Dimming: The FL06E, FL4, FL5 and FL10 accept 0–10V or 1–10V dimming for timers and lighting controls.
Voltage, IP65 and DLC listings
The FL06E, FL3, FL4, FL5 and FL10 run on 120–277V. They are IP65 rated (dust-tight and protected against rain and water jets) and UL listed, and most are DLC 5.1 Premium. On 480V service, choose a 277–480V SL high mast: the 500W and 750W come in both voltages, and the 1000W is 277–480V only. Utility rebate programs usually require a DLC listing; enter your address in our Find Rebates tool to see which programs apply.
Commercial LED Flood Lights for Parking Lots, Yards and Sports Fields
Commercial LED flood lights earn their keep on poles and rooftops: car lots, truck yards, equipment storage, billboards and ball fields. For area flood lights on a pole, the FL4 300W, FL5 300W and FL10 500W are the usual picks. A single 500W LED floodlight like the FL10 puts out 76,000 lumens. That is enough to replace a 1,000W metal halide head, and its Type III optic spreads the light wide across the lot.
Some sites call for a different fixture. Under a dark-sky ordinance, or where glare would bother the neighbors, shoebox-style LED area lights and LED street lights mount flat and aim straight down. Building perimeters are usually simpler with LED wall packs, and fuel islands with LED canopy lights.
For sports fields, ports and large industrial yards, the SL high mast series delivers 67,500 to 135,000 lumens per fixture through a 40° beam, topped by the 1000W model. See all our sports lights for more field and arena fixtures.
Lighting a whole lot or a row of poles?
Send your fixture list for volume pricing before you order, and check which utility rebates cover DLC-listed models at your address.
Outdoor Flood Lights for Homes, Landscapes and Signs
Most homes need far less. For a garage, driveway or backyard, one 50W outdoor flood light under the eaves is often enough, and the FL06E switches itself on at dusk. Exterior LED flood lights on a house look best at 3000K or 4000K; save 5700K for security lighting along fences and gates.
For trees, flags and walls, knuckle-mount floods thread onto a stake and aim exactly where you want them. See our landscape lighting range, or solar LED lights where running wire is not practical.
For signs, aim from below or in front so the beam covers the whole panel without spilling into the sky, and use 4000K to keep logo colors true. A monument sign usually needs one or two 30–50W floods, while a billboard needs several larger fixtures spread across the face. For mid-size jobs, read why a 100W LED flood light makes sense for U.S. properties.
Ordering LED Flood Lighting for a Project
Flood light jobs rarely stop at one fixture. If you are lighting a whole lot or a row of poles, send your fixture list through our bulk discount inquiries page for volume pricing before you order. Some utilities pay back part of the cost of DLC-listed models, and our commercial LED rebate guide walks through the steps.
DLC-qualified fixtures carry a 5-year warranty and UL-only models 3 years, unless the spec sheet gives a different term; the details are on our warranty information page. In-stock orders usually arrive within 3–7 days, or you can collect them in Lawrenceville. Unused fixtures in their original packaging can come back within 30 days with an RMA number under our return policy, and we match prices on comparable products.
Common Questions About LED Flood Lights
What is the brightest LED flood light you sell?
Our 1000W SL high mast light, at 135,000 lumens. In a standard flood-mount fixture, the FL10 500W leads at 76,000 lumens, enough to replace a 1,000W metal halide on a lot pole.
How long do LED flood lights last?
The FL06E, FL3, FL4, FL5 and FL10 are rated for 50,000 hours. At about 12 hours a night, dusk to dawn, that works out to roughly 11 years. DLC-listed models also carry a 5-year warranty.
Are these LED flood lights outdoor rated?
Yes. They are made for outdoor use, and the FL06E, FL3, FL4, FL5, FL10 and SL models are IP65 rated: dust-tight and protected against rain and water jets from any direction. IP65 is not submersible, so for fountains, ponds or in-ground wells, choose a fixture rated IP67 or IP68.
Should I use flood lights or area lights for a parking lot?
It depends on where the poles stand. Flood lights are aimed, so they work best when the lot is lit from its edge or from the building. Area lights mount flat on poles inside the lot and send light straight down in a set pattern, which gives more even coverage with less glare. Many sites use both.
Can I install an LED flood light myself?
Hire a licensed electrician. These fixtures are hardwired, and professional installation is a condition of our warranty. Swapping a fixture on an existing box or pole is usually a quick job. New circuits, trenching or a bucket truck for tall poles are what push the cost up.
Do you sell green LED flood lights?
Not colored ones. Our fixtures make white light, from 3000K warm white to 5700K daylight, so if you want a green LED flood light for holiday or stage effects, look for a color-changing RGB fixture. If by green you mean energy-saving, our DLC-listed floods use a fraction of the power of the metal halide or halogen lights they replace, and many qualify for utility rebates.
